Mathew Couch House, 1960
Mathew Couch house built in 1873 in Senoia, a photograph I took in 1960, showing the house as it long stood, with front porch, which is likely original. After a damaging fire some years after this picture was taken, the porch was removed. A rear wing extends off to the right (west). The house faces Pylant Street on the NW corner of Pylant and Johnson. Mathew Couch kept his house at the plantation on Little White Oak Creek and used it for occasional occupancy. Several planters in the area had both country and town houses at this time. (JHHM)
